Would you kindly send me an export of your iMessage conversation history with me? As in, obviously, specifically the conversation history between you and me only.Β

It's easy to export to PDF on your laptop, and I can walk you through the process if you need.Β

It won't capture audio that we've sent to each other, which I would prefer to have, but that's a more involved process so I'm asking for the bare minimum as a gesture of courtesy.

I presume you've deleted our Signal conversation history and don't have any backup files, but if I'm wrong about that then I would be happy to find out.

If you've deleted our iMessage history, please let me know. Otherwise, I would really appreciate if you could get this done after work today.

Can I get it in writing whether you intend to refuse or cooperate?

Yeah im going to pass on this one my guy. If you’re wondering why, maybe run it by the therapist in your session tomorrow! Anyways, hope you had a great weekend 😊

Please read that in the chillest most non condescending way as it was intended.Β

Talk soon!Β

Those belong to both of us, what do you mean you're going to pass? You're saying you kept them and you're refusing to let me have them, even though they belong to both of us? That I'm just fucked because I had lost and damaged phones over the years? Can you give an actual reason instead of telling me to ask a therapist?

And telling me to ask the therapist is fucking condescending no matter how you read it.Β

I am so beyond exhausted with the insult you continue to add to injury and disrespect and honest to god abuse. I've been so much better to you these past two years than anyone being treated the way you've treated me has any responsibility to be. I'm asking for you to share something that belongs to me. It belongs to both of us. I'm asking for you to just make the access to our written history that you have equal to me.Β

Can you call me and make this a quick conversation with a definite ending instead of leaving me here wondering when or if you'll even respond? I would take it as a gesture of good faith.

You do not need to be going back to read old messages. We never even used iMessage. It’s not healthy. That is why.Β

I think it would be helpful for you to talk about it with the therapist, that’s all. I don’t mean it condescendingly.Β

We weren't using Signal until a good while into our acquaintanceship, and I know iPhones don't have another native messaging app, so unless you've deleted them, we have conversation history in your iMessages. They'll just be green.

It isn't up to you to decide what's healthy for me, and I've already spoken to my own therapist about asking you for this. I know that I have healthy, valid reasons for making this request. And for what it's worth to you, I'm not going to be going back and reading old messages between me and you.Β

Furthermore, if the answer was always genuinely "I don't have them", then there were about a dozen different ways you could have worded your first reply that weren't as cruel as what you chose to go with.

Again, I imagine this conversation has about thirty seconds to two minutes worth of actual talking left to it, and I would really prefer to get it over with instead of dealing with the stress of not knowing whether you'll be replying further or not. Please just call me.

You know I more usually than not oblige to a call but I’m going to respectfully say no today. I am open to being wrong and will discuss this with the therapist tomorrow but for now that is how I feel. I’m sorry if my message earlier came off as rude, I really didn’t mean it that way. I was hoping to come off casual and playful as you have mentioned you prefer that anyways. Im really sorry it seemed other wise.Β

You can say no, but please don't pretend that it's respectful.

And about my original request: your answer is no and you aren't genuinely concerned with the reasoning that you put forward for that answer, which is why engaging that reasoning never gets a response from you. This is a tactic that you've used for years, at least, and it's an example of manipulative, abusive behavior.

Maybe you should ask your therapist about why you feel the need to protect your peace with lies and misdirection. I can respectfully provide dozens of examples if you would like to reflect on them.

Goodbye, stranger.
